We respectfully acknowledge that FASS Fest takes place on the unceded ancestral and traditional territories of the sÉ™lÌ“ilwÌ“É™taʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), kÊ·ikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), and xÊ·mÉ™θkÊ·É™yÌ“É™m (Musqueam) Nations, on which we are privileged to live, work, and play. Unceded means that these territories have never been handed over, sold, or given up by these nations, and we are currently situated on occupied territories. The settler colony of British Columbia was created using various forms of strategic violence and dispossession, which has structured our society and created lasting injustices that today persist. We acknowledge that, in the present, new forms of colonial violence and dispossession continue to be established on these territories.
