About

SFU Psychology Student Union social media banner

The Psychology Student Union (PSU) seeks to promote and represent the interests of undergraduate students within SFU's Department of Psychology. We host campaigns and events designed to provide social connection and academic support for all psychology students.

Past Events

In the past we have held movie nights, bake sales, and our annual Career Night event, offering opportunities for students to network with industry professionals and gain insight into psychology-related occupations. We hope to organize new social, academic, and career-focused events in the 2019-2020 year to enrich the undergraduate experience for students within the department.

Why Join?

Joining PSU is a great way to connect with other psychology students, familiarize yourself with faculty members, and gain co-curricular experience as an executive member. You can find our common room in RCB 5124. Organizing and volunteering for events and campaigns is an opportunity to better acquaint yourself with the campus community.

The Department of Psychology has one of the largest student populations within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and the PSU is always looking for new members to help better serve and represent those students. We have weekly meetings during the Fall and Spring semesters, and sell clothing and merchandise regularly throughout the year. Be sure to check us out on social media to stay up to date on meeting times and events!

We respectfully acknowledge that FASS Fest takes place on the unceded ancestral and traditional territories of the səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations, on which we are privileged to live, work, and play. Unceded means that these territories have never been handed over, sold, or given up by these nations, and we are currently situated on occupied territories. The settler colony of British Columbia was created using various forms of strategic violence and dispossession, which has structured our society and created lasting injustices that today persist. We acknowledge that, in the present, new forms of colonial violence and dispossession continue to be established on these territories.
